Jeep is known for the legendary ruggedness of its SUVs. The Gladiator’s safety package earned the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s highest score.
Top-Rated Safety You Can Trust
The new 2022 Jeep Gladiator has a top-rated safety package that includes an advanced rearview camera and a blind spot monitoring system.
The Gladiator is available with a standard backup camera, which provides a 180-degree view behind the vehicle. This allows drivers to see obstacles behind their vehicle when backing up or parking.
The backup camera is located in the center of the rear window, just above the license plate. The camera can be set to display in color or black and white. It also has an auto-dimming feature that adjusts brightness based on ambient light conditions, so it doesn’t blind drivers when they’re reversing at night.
The Gladiator also includes available Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) with Rear Cross Path Detection (RCPD). BSM monitors vehicles in adjacent lanes for potential rear cross-traffic threats when changing lanes or backing up.
If an object is detected in an adjacent lane, a warning appears on the dash display and may illuminate an indicator light in the outside mirror housing if equipped.
RCPD uses radar sensors on each side of the vehicle to detect vehicles traveling alongside and those approaching from behind while traveling at low speeds, such as while parallel parking or backing out of parking spaces.
The Jeep Gladiator continues to be one of the safest trucks on the market. With its standard four-wheel disc brakes, ABS brakes, and Electronic Stability Control, you can confidently drive this vehicle.
Its side curtain airbags provide head protection in a rollover accident. The Gladiator also features eight dual front and front side impact airbags and knee airbags for driver and passenger.
More Safety Features
The new model comes with several standard safety features and optional extras that will keep you safe no matter what terrain you’re driving on.
The lane departure warning system helps improve driver safety. It alerts you if you start drifting out of your lane or if there is another car in front or behind you, so there is no risk of collision.
The system also alerts you when there are upcoming exits or curves so that you don’t miss them while driving and cause an accident on the road.
The Gladiator has a rearview camera and parking assist technology, including sensors that detect objects behind the vehicle. The rearview camera can be displayed on the dashboard screen, providing a high-resolution image with night vision capability.
The parking assist system uses ultrasonic sensors to monitor the space behind the vehicle when it’s in reverse gear. It displays an alert on the dashboard screen if there’s an object that’s too close for comfort.
Power, Performance, and Style
The 2022 Jeep Gladiator comes with two engines: a 6.2L V8 engine that produces 400 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque or a 3.0L Hybrid V6 engine that produces 350 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters.
The truck also has an available 4×4 system, which can be switched on or off depending on your needs. The truck comes in three trims: the Sport, Overland, and Rubicon trim levels.
The Gladiator’s exterior is designed with a rugged look and features such as front skid plates, tow hooks, black fender flares, LED headlights and fog lights, projector-beam headlights (Sport), LED taillights (all), LED side marker lights (Sport) and more.
The interior provides plenty of space for passengers and cargo alike, thanks to its six-passenger seating configuration and the large cargo area behind the rear seats for storing items – even those items that are too tall for the cab.
The Gladiator comes equipped with Hill-Start Assist Control (HAC). HAC prevents rolling backward when starting from a stop on a hill by applying the brakes automatically until you release the brake pedal and begin moving forward again.
The GPS navigation system will help you get where you need to go while keeping track of the traffic around you. It will also show more information about points of interest along your route so that you don’t have to guess where they are located when they come up along the way.
The Gladiator has a spacious interior design and offers comfortable seats for up to five passengers. You can also adjust your seat according to your needs and preferences through its power driver’s seat feature.
